Kalley Heiligenthal

00:32:40

God is the one who qualifies you. God is the one that calls you. You can submit to leadership but they do not qualify you. Release your leaders from what they were never meant to fulfill in you.

Finding Victory in Ministry Difficulties

Kalley Heilligenthal

  1. Things always look better from a distance

    1. Church has a way of looking clean and perfect

    2. But the realization of imperfection in the church can be painful.

    3. Churches are full of people who make mistakes, even leaders.

  2. We all deal with the disappointment in church in different ways

    1. Running away, the pain was too much and you want to leave.

    2. Bitterness, judgment.

      1. Holding onto unforgiveness actually comes back to hurt you.

      2. Unforgiveness is actually out to kill you. Bitterness can take you out.

    3. We try to do relationship with God on our own.

  1. Things to check your spirit for offense and judgment.

    1. You have conversations over and over in your head

    2. You hear a message or read something and you think if only the person who hurt me could hear this.

    3. There is someone or an organization that you don’t want to see prosper

    4. Listening and sharing gossip

    5. You can’t be lead by someone or receive from them because you are disqualifying them in your head.

  2. So what do we do with our pain?

    1. Do not listen to the voice that wants to convince you that you are powerless.

    2. Choose honor, not because they deserve it, but because YOU are honorable.

    3. It’s not your job to judge or teach a lesson to the people who have hurt you. That is God’s role.

    4. You have to be around people that are going to call you out of bitterness, and comfort you. Don’t negotiate with people who aren’t a part of the solution.

    5. John 20:19 If you forgive the sins of others they are forgiven. He died to give authority back and power back. This is the FIRST thing he tells them after Jesus walks through the wall.

God is the one who qualifies you. God is the one that calls you. You can submit to leadership but they do not qualify you. Release your leaders from what they were never meant to fulfill in you.

STEPS OF WALKING THROUGH FORGIVENESS

  1. Tell him it hurt, bring Jesus your pain

  2. Ask him for names of people to forgive.

  3. Speak forgiveness “I forgive ______ for making me feel ________.”

  4. “God I entrust this person to you. I ask that you would bless them.” Pray into their lives the things you want to see in your own life.
