Steff prays for students.
Steff opens with a story of her daughter, Wonder, playing on her bible app, and a revelation she had as a result.
She was taught you don’t question God. But actually, He loves our questions.
How do you get to know a person without asking the questions?
Genesis 1 - read the children’s bible “The Storybook Bible”.
B. The tree - Why did God put it there?
It all started with a father who wanted a family. Intimacy requires consent from two parties. They needed to have a choice, an option. He didn’t want puppets.
C. God wasn’t withholding from them. He was Fathering them.
If they had known at that stage it would have killed them. Once you see you can’t unsee. The same way a parent teaches their child things at age-appropriate times. If you teach too early they can’t comprehend.
D. We’re all dangerous to ourselves when we get alone. We are designed for family.
Everything He created was good. It was flawless. But because He wanted us for covenant we had to have the choice.
What if Adam and Eve had gotten vulnerable in their humanity in that moment?
What if they had never got alone?
What if they had just worshipped?
What if they’d just told each other how much they loved each other?
E. We’re returning to His original intent for us.
The lie has been “You’re withholding from me”.
We are always working to come back.
We need to step out of that mindset and go back to knowing that we are born of Goodness.
A distorted image of God will produce a distorted image of us.
F. Steff has the students stand to prophetically move out from old ways of thinking.
Be honest about what’s really there
Get out of shame
Stop protecting yourself from others
Make the choice to believe truth
